HOLIDAY PARK EXPERIENCES

 

We have received lots of feedback from holiday park owners. Below are some of our client’s personal experiences following the purchase of their holiday park home.  

I was ripped off when they bought it back off me.

At the point of sale and at purchase we were promised categorically that we were not subject to a tenure or term on our caravan. We were especially diligent in certifying this as we had just been asked to leave the Haven site at Longridge when they took over (again we had no contract to verify this). We were assured that as long as we maintained our plot and our caravan was kept in a good condition then we would not be asked to leave for any reason. Also, we were told our caravan had a 25 year warranty (so it still had 4/5 years of this left on it) when we were told to leave. We were never given a contract or agreement but were given newspaper publications by South Lakeland caravans stating that they did not operate a tenure and that their holidays lasted a lifetime. We invested a lot of our money and time into our holiday home and were treated appallingly, lied to and bullied.

The difference between the bought and sold price, there was no help with the resale even though it was promised when I bought and they still took 18% of my sale. The new owner stayed on the same pitch. And the increase in 2023 was way higher than was indicated would happen when I bought it, putting me under financial pressure.
